810 Classic

Game 14: (12-2)
12 October in the 810 Classic vs. Dodge City at STA (4-0)

We continued our streak against good teams, as we just don't allow shots. We coaches are most impressed with the level of energy we continue to generate on the field.

Dodge generally has a skilled team, but this team possessed size and athleticism as well. The score was only 1-0 at the half, off just a bomb of a shot by Jack Martin.

We did catch some more wind in the second half, but what made the difference were two more set-piece goals in the second and just an awesome DJ-to-Parker goal. And Gabe Kraft (our target) got a piece of both Parker throws to put the ball in a scoring position—Muckerman and Schroeder both nicely finishing.

In fact, DJ shares BWhite Player of the Match with Jack Martin. Both played well and got us to goal when we needed it.

We got big minutes out of John Anliker at right-back.

And with Shae out for the night, Carter Diggs filled in perfectly—and somehow, saved a point-blank shot heading over his head. That save not only saved the shutout for the game but also allowed us to have finished, as crazy as it sounds, 8-0 at home, with 8 shutouts at home this season. Check it out!

And then freshman, Andrew Seger, cleaned up the last 9 minutes (in his first-ever varsity action), adding a couple of more saves—his first, a fairly difficult one.

On to Rockhurst and Blue Valley West—not exactly an easy week.
