Well, we knew what was on the line tonight: 1) a #1 Seed 2) and an undefeated EKL title, and we knew we were playing the EKL favorite and one of the 6A title favorites.

But this team continues to amaze the entire coaching staff. We just finished the EKL, going 8-0, and more face-slapping crazy than that—we gave up only one goal in those 8 games.

So hats off to those guys in the back first: Mitchell Farrar and Gabe Kraft at centerback (with a few subs in by DJ White), Max I-AM-A-LEFT-BACK Bryson, and Zayveon Russell and Jacob Muckerman at right-back.  Shae Wirt and Carter Diggs in goal. (We are still waiting for the defense to come up with their nickname.)

And the whole team tonight worked so hard defensively to limit a very talented team to "not much." 

We did create some very good chances and 3 of them turned into highlight-reel goalie saves by that West keeper—just fine, fine keeping. He saved an unsaveable Parker header, and he stopped Muckerman from scoring upper 90 from Muckerville, and no one does that.

I believe BWhite named Co-BWhite Players of the Match—Parker Stoecklein to DJ White won the game and the award.

We now will take a few days off before gearing up for regionals. But tonight we finished off one of the finest regular-seasons in Saint Thomas Aquinas history. And no Aquinas team—much less another EKL team—has given up only one goal for entire the EKL season game. Congrats boys!
